Liebster Blog Award

Happy Tuesday all!

This morning I checked my blog to find out that I had been nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by the lovely David at Passion For Fashion. But what is the Liebster Award I hear you ask? Well, I actually didn't know either! After about ten minutes googling and checking out David's blog, I discovered that it is a chance for new and upcoming blogs to be recognised, and for the community to get to know and welcome you! Lovely.

The idea behind the award is to state eleven random facts about yourself, answer the eleven questions that the blogger who nominated you wants to answer and create another eleven to pass on to your nominees. Here goes...

Eleven Random Facts

[1] I'm a final year Business Studies student at Birmingham City University.

[2] My new years resolution is to travel more. So far I have been to Dublin and am off to Venice for a long weekend this Saturday!

[3] My favourite drink is San Pellogrino Limonata.. I can't get enough of it!

[6] My favourite food is creamy chicken, spinach and garlic pasta with a truffle oil drizzle and parmesan shavings. Yum!

[7] I went to London Fashion Week and London Fashion Weekend last September.

[8] I'm hoping to graduate with a first class honours this May and to then pursue my career in Buying by moving to London.

[9] I'm scared of needles, dogs, snakes and mice/rats.

[10] I'm always on time and I plan everything meticulously.

[11] I love all of the trashy TV shows about the party islands that on British TV at the moment... e.g, 'What Happens In Kavos', 'The Magaluf Weekender' and 'Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents'!

David's Eleven Questions

[1] Describe yourself in three words

Organised, Outgoing, Positive

[2] What is your biggest pet peeve?

When my boyfriend sees that the toilet roll has ran out, opens a new one and leaves it on the floor instead of replacing the cardboard tube that is still hanging on the holder!

[3] From 1 - 10 (1 being lowest and 10 being highest) how important is fashion to you?

I'm going to go with a 7 here. I love fashion, but I don't think of it as being really important to me. In my line of work (fashion buying) I have to keep on-top of seasonal trends in advance, so I'm pretty hot on what's in and what's out. I will generally pick up a few key pieces from a trend and mix them with staples from my wardrobe, but I never go all out to follow a new trend. So for example, this Winter I bought a nice Tartan scarf but I'll wear it with black leggings, a chunky necklace, boots and an oversized top.. I don't tend to clash prints or wear more than one item at once from a trend.

[4] What are your plans for the future?

Career wise, I would like to become a fully fledged fashion retail buyer. I'm really enjoying blogging at the moment so I hope to keep it up and continue growing!

[5] Favourite place to go on holiday?

I'm going to cheat a little here (Sorry, David!) and cite New York to be my favourite place, even though I haven't actually been, YET. Walks in Central Park, Bergdorfs and Bendels, Drinks in Times Square and watching the sun set from the top of the Rockefeller building.. It's my mission to go this summer after I have graduated!

[6] Dogs or Cats?

I'm scared of dogs and I'm allergic to cats, so neither! But if I had to choose, cats. I would like a little Ginger tabby kitten called Marmalade!

[7] What is your favourite thing to blog about and why?

I really enjoy posting nail art tutorials, as its something I really enjoy doing, and photographing and documenting it is exciting to me!

[8] Why did you decide to write a blog?

After about three months of pouring myself over Zoella, Fleur De Force and The Londoner, I decided I should give it a go myself! My first post was a little intimidating, as lets be honest, with no followers, I was writing to myself! That said, now I love reading comments when people have read my post and can relate to it!

[9] Who is your favourite celebrity?

Wow, this is tough question! I have too many! I'm going to go with Frankie Sandford from the UK girl group The Saturdays. Frankie is absolutely stunning, I love the Saturdays and have been to see them three times, and she tweeted me on my 21st birthday wishing me a great day!

[10] What is your favourite perfume / aftershave?

My favourite perfume, without a shadow of a doubt, is the beautiful Narciso Rodriguez - 'For Her'. It is musky and girly and stays strong all day long. I know this isn't what the question is asking, but in case you were wondering anyway, my favourite mens aftershave is Hugo Boss - Boss Bottled.

[11] Who is the one person you can always rely on?

I'm going to have to cheat (again, oops!) because I have lots! My mum, dad, little brother, boyfriend and best friend have all provided a shoulder to cry on, money when in need, a helping hand or a reason to cheer me up when I need one!
