Afternoon Tea

The other day was my best friend's 23rd birthday, and as we have a little tradition of always try to outdo the other person on how extravagant birthday celebrations can be, I decided to plan a birthday treasure hunt and afternoon tea.

The afternoon tea consisted of:

Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese sandwiches
Tuna and Cucumber sandwiches
Smoked Ham and Mature Cheddar sandwiches
Scones
Strawberry, Blackcurrant, Apricot and Morello Cherry jams
English Clotted Cream
Danish pastries
Ferrero Rochers
Violet and Rose Chocolate creams
Champagne!

I bought eleven small-ish presents and wrapped them all individually, sticking a card to each one with a clue. I hid all of the gifts in my apartment and my apartment complex, and we went on a little hunt to find all of them. Her main and last present was a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet, with a shamrock charm as we had just been to Ireland. The smaller gifts I bought ranged from a cookbook to St Tropez fake tan to some Liquorice wheels to the present jar I featured in my previous blog post.

I love wrapping presents, I think the treasure hunt may have just been an excuse for me to buy more to wrap! I drive my boyfriend crazy always popping into Paperchase and wanting to look at wrapping paper and ribbons!
